Minnesota Timberwolves

Hello, and welcome back to my blog!!  Yes I know that my blog is about The Vikings but being the fact that the season has ended, I thought I could talk about all the exciting stuff that has happened lately with the t-wolves following the trade deadline. The best player that the Wolves got out of the trades that they made, was definitely D’Angelo Russel. The t wolves had to give up Andrew Wiggins for D’lo ( D’Angelo Russel) but personally, I think it was worth it. We also were able to get Malik Beasley from the Dever Nuggets. Let me tell you he has been a great player since coming to the Wolves. Malik has averaged 19.7 points in the last ten games which is pretty good. Lately, it’s like the team’s spirit has been lifted completely, what I mean is the first game after the trade deadline we won against the L.A. Clipper by 142-115, if that isn’t impressive, then I don’t know what is.

Currently, the Wolves are on a three-day losing streak, but that’s beside the point. At this point in time, the Wolves are playing for next season, being the fact is team record is 19-45. So lately I’ve been excited about going to a Timberwolves game over spring break… but since the coronavirus has gotten to NBA player of the Utah Jazz Rudy Gobert they NBA has suspended the season as of now! Which kinda means no T-wolves game for me. But I guess it’s better than possibly getting Corona, right?? Right now our big man Karl-Anthony Towns is injured but he recently awarded high school baller Paige Bueckers with the Gatorade player of the year award, which KAT (Karl-Anthony Towns) won himself when he was in high school.  I’d say that by next season the Timberwolves are gonna make the playoffs and when I say gonna I mean THEY WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!!!

Dalvin Cook

Image result for dalvin cook"Welcome, back to my Blog! So today I’ll be talking about The starting Running back for the Minnesota VikingsThe Vikings were knocked out of the playoffs but it wasn’t the last game of the season for him. Dalvin Cook and a couple other Vikings were selected to play in the pro bowl this year. If you aren’t very familiar with Cookie AKA (Dalvin Cook) then let me tell you a bit about his background. Dalvin Cook (born August 10, 1995). He played football at FL St. and was drafted into the NL in the second round and the 41st pick of 2017. He also was born in West Little River, Florida. Since he has joined the league he has had a successful career, but a knee injury in his rookie season disrupted him, but he came back strong and has become a Probowler at the age of 24. This season he had a minor shoulder injury but he was able to come back.  As a Vikings fan myself I am very happy to see another RB that could continue the legacy that Adrian Peterson started for Viking RB’s. The Vikings have improved so much since the days when Christian Ponder was the QB, and Dalvin has been a big part of our team this season. This season Cookie had over 1,000 yards and 13 Tds. He has become more known around the league which is good publicity for him and the Vikings. I’d say that Dalvin cook has the potential to become an Adrian Peterson caliber player if he is able to stay healthy. I say this because if you haven’t noticed, he is kinda a beast on the field. He can run fast, but he can also truck through defenders. If I had to choose two players to describe how he plays I would say “Marshawn Lynch, and Chris Johnson”. So that’s gonna wrap up this blog post! see ya later m8!

Vikings Vs. Saints Wildcard Playoff game

Hello, and welcome back to my blog about the Minnesota Vikings!! Today I’m gonna be talking about the Vikings game on Sunday! So on Saturday, I came back from Florida, and I was excited to be back. Going into the Vikings game I was a little nervous about playing Legendary QB (Quarterback) Drew Brees and the whole Saints team. At the beginning of the game, Adam Thielen fumbled the ball and the Saints recovered it, which was a VERY VERY bad way to start a playoff game. The Saints ended up getting a field goal and just like that they were up by 3. Fear not because we did the very same thing and charged down the field for a field goal. On the next drive, the Saints bring out the unstoppable Taysom Hill, who then threw a 5o yard bomb pass to Deonte Harris and landed on the 3yrd line. Followed by a TD (Touchdown) by Alvin Kamara. It was a very deflating drive against the Vikes defense. Kirk was luckily feeling it that game so, on 3 and 7 he got off a clean throw to Rudolf and followed up with a sweet run by Cookie AKA Dalvin Cook. But sadly we didn’t get a TD, the drive ended with a field goal from Dan Bailey. The current score at the time was 10-6 Saints up. The Vikings defense was in need of a big play to get us back into the groove of things. Thank god Anthony Harris was ready for the deep throw from Drew Brees. Brees threw it deep to Ted Ginn Jr. but Harris was there to get the INT (Interception). The Vikings offense was feeling good and was able to march all the way downfield and get a TD!! And let me remind you that there were only 23 seconds left in the half and we were up by 3. Going into the half the score was 13-10 Vikings lead.

Going into the 3rd quarter we got a big defensive stop which led too… us punting the ball cause Bisi Johnson dropped the ball *That’s tough* Although we didn’t do well on offense are defense got another stop. So let’s skip to the good stuff when Thielen got a great catch in saints territory. A couple plays later Diggs got one of the few catches he got that game. And then, of course, Dalvin cook got the TD in goal. Score 20-10 Vikings lead.   On the next drive, the insane and unexpected G.O.A.T. Taysom Hill happened to be open deep in the endzone and Brees took a chance and of course, it paid off. Score 20-17 Vikings lead. A couple drives later we forced a fumble on Drew Brees and we recovered it :).  The saints are in desperate need of a TD but they fall short and instead tye the game up with seconds to go.

OVERTIME:

The Vikings get the ball first and we drove straight down the field with the help of Adam Thielen and Kirk Cousins. The game came down to the double K’s Kirk and Kyle, and of course, they prevailed and got the game-winning overtime Touchdown!!!! Let’s go Vikes 🙂 😉

Adrian Peterson #28

Welcome, back to my Minnesota Vikings blog! So today I’m going to be talking about the best RB ( Running Back) that has ever played for the Vikings A.K.A Adrian Peterson. If you aren’t familiar with him then allow me to share some basic facts about him before I get into ranting about how cool he was. So, Adrian was born in Palestine, Texas on March 21, 1985. He attended Palestine High School where he was an exceptional athlete. Since he grew up near Dallas he was a huge Cowboys fan and loved watching Emmit Smith. But life at home for him was pretty tough. His parents got divorced when he was young, but the hardest thing for him was when his best friends his brother was hit and killed by a drunk driver when he was 7yrs old. When he had thought that was rock bottom it turned out that he was wrong. He was 13 when his dad was arrested and sent to jail, but fortunately, his mother was able to give him a good home. He had alway’s been a natural athlete, in High School he was a star player on the track team. In his senior year of High School, he finished as one of the elite backs in the country.

He played college football in Oklahoma. he did very well there and in his junior year, he decided to enter the NFL draft. He was chosen by the Minnesota Vikings and he was the 7th overall draft pick. In his rookie season, he was named the offensive rookie of the year and rushed for 1,341 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was selected for the Pro bowl every full season he played in the NFL. Although he had an amazing career with the Vikings he was traded to the New Orleans Saints but was shorty after traded to the Arizona Cardinals. Adrian Peterson is currently playing for the Washington Redskins.

Well, that’s gonna wrap up this post! I hope you enjoyed it!  BYE

Purple People Eaters

On November 13, 1967, the Vikings defense destroyed the offense of the Detroit Lions. In that game, they put constant pressure on the Lion’s backfield and they forced a record of 11 fumbles against the Lions. On December 27, 1969, the Vikings had there first playoffs win! Their Quarterback Joe Kapp was able to keep them strong on offense, and of course, the defensive line AKA the Purple People Eaters strained the offense of the Rams. The Vikings were able to ride the momentum from that win, and they were able to take the NFL title the next week, and they were able to make it to four super bowls in the next seven years. The two purple people eaters who were inducted into the hall of fame are Carl Eller and Alan Page. Carl Eller was born on January 25, 1942, in Winston-Salem, NC and he is currently 77 years old. The other hall of fame inductee Alan Page was born on August 7, 1945, and was born in Canton Ohio, and is currently 74 years old. Alan played 15 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears, and when he was retired from the NFL he decided to pursue a career in law( for some odd reason). Carl Eller was inducted into the hall of fame in 2004. That’s all on the Great and MIGHTY PURPLE PEOPLE EATERS!!!!
